Hello,
When integrating bias and  dark, I expected to just take the mean value.  Rejection is used only for to avoid comsic or stuff like that.  Is the scale estimator usefull in this case ? I would have expected a 'no scale estimator' setting?
What did I miss ?

Thanks,
Yes, I did read it.
This is even the reason of my question.
The tutorial states 'no normalization, no calibration' for bias and dark,
but in PI 1.8 the UI is slightly different and have the additional field 'Scale estimator' which does not seem useful if you do not scale anything.

If you disable output and rejection normalization and image weighting, which are the recommended settings for integration of bias and dark frames (see the tutorial pointed out by Steve), all the frames are implicitly assumed to have the same statistical scale (or dispersion). In these cases, the scale estimator selected in the Image Integration section is ignored, and scale estimators are only used internally by the rejection algorithms (each algorithm depends on one or more estimators, as described in the documentation for the ImageIntegration tool).
