Process elapsed time?

Is there any way to determine how long a process or operation took to execute? Is there any type of timer that is associated with each process step?

I would be interested to see how much processing time some operations take. I could compare one PC to another or one style of process versus anther to save computing (and waiting) time.

This information is writed to the console. There is a benchmark set of processes that is used to compare the efficiency of PI in different computers/OS. Take a look at the "new pc: biggest bang for the buck" thread.
