Process Console statistics
« on: 2013 December 21 14:22:17 »
I've had a look at the powerpoint presentation made by Jordi Gallego (Increasing Signal/Noise Ratio and outlier rejection with PixInsight). In this presentation he states that the goal is to maximize the average SNR increments number (while considering a correct outlier rejection).
In the current version of PI the term average SNR increments is no longer being used. Is this being replaced by "median noise reduction"? If so, should the value of median noise reduction" be as high as possible?

There is a script called NoiseEvaluation Script. If I run this it shows a percentage and other information. Does a low % means a better SNR?

Which one is better if I want to compare  the SNR resulting from different rejection algorithmes/settings: the statistics in the Process Console or the values indicated by the NoiseEvaluation script?
