Problems with Calibration
« on: 2013 September 29 08:22:25 »
Folks,

I am experiencing a problem I have seen others have been suffering as well (see following post as an example http://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=6061.msg41225#msg41225).

This weekend I took two sets of NB images.  My NGC7380 set is working fine, but my Helix Nebula set will not calibrate.  I am using MaximDL for image capture and am using standard settings (saving as 16bit images, etc).  No matter what setting I use on the ImageCalibation tool, I am getting either an image like the one Richard showed or one that is a lot lighter but still all messed up (depending on whether I check calibrate or not).  I have tried running the batch processing script but get the same result.  I had this happen once before but it seemed to clear itself.  No such luck this time.

I have processed new images as well as old ones that were calibrated under CCDStack and have not seen this before so I have no idea what is happening.

(modified to report images saved as 16bit, not 32 bit after checking Fits Header in MaximDL)

Help!!

Jim

Really, are clear skies, low wind and no moon that much to ask for?
