New PixInsight LE version 1.0.2 includes the DynamicBackgroundExtraction process (DBE among friends), an interactive system for correction of uneven illumination and color in deep-sky images. Virtually all types of vignetting and sky gradients can be accurately fixed with DBE.
The update archive for LE 1.0.2.143 is ready for download on our server. Although there is no official documentation for DBE yet, we have authored a new tutorial on vignetting and gradient correction with this tool, with some worked examples and detailed explanations for all parameters. All the details are on PixInsight's website.
Version 1.0.2 also includes an upgraded SGBNR process. SGBNR can now use a (inverse) luminance mask, which is generated transparently. This feature has not been documented, but I'm sure that those of you that were accustomed to the old standalone SGBNR application will have no problem at all with it
A documentation update will be available very soon. Of course the new SGBNR is fully backwards-compatible, so all of your existing process icons will continue working.
