Good Day,

(A first-timer with a little introduction)

I have done some film-based imaging in the mid-90's, but off-axis guiding with a reticle eyepiece put an end to that real quick. CCD imaging was never an option as it seemed a little daunting with expensive equipment and a whole new vocabulary.

When the Meade DSI arrived on the scene, my interest was peaked once again. I've been imaging for just over a year now and have added a DSLR to the mix. The Envisage software is very limited and I find myself doing all processing in Photoshop.

I've been looking for the "cat's meow" of image processing and believe I found it with PixInsight. My primary computer is a Mac with a PC notebook for capture in the field.

So, the big question is: with the commercial release of PixInsight coming (very) soon, when can we expect the Mac version to arrive?

Hi Mark

The Mac OS version is one of our priorities next year. First of all, we'll have to compile the whole code (were we speck to find very few problems, so it should be a quite fast process, because our source code is almost completely cross-platform) on a Mac machine. This process should start as soon as we get enough funds with the sales to afford the investment on the new needed licences (and we get the amounts already spended on the current development tools and licences, along with many other fixed expenses of this new company). So, this may take a while.

Anyway, as I said before, it is one of our priorities for the 2008 year, so stay tuned and thanks for the patience
