Gum 17 and Cederblad 106n in Vela
« on: 2013 March 21 19:09:22 »
Hello

I took this picture at Cajon del Maipo at about 50Km from Santiago de Chile on Mar 9

These nebulas are located on the north-west boundary of the vela Supernova Remnant.
There are other objects in the field like the cluster NGC2671 and several others that I couln't identify.
On the lower part some filaments of the SNR.

Hi Geert, It is a very nice image of a difficult object! Congrats for the result.

I didn't realize that you were imaging with a full frame, the stars are very well in the corners!.

Saludos. Alejandro.

Thanks Alejadro.   The 5D is almost new, This is one of the first imaging sessions with it. I'm very pleased with the result.

Thanks Lex.   The sky is really good, may be not as good as "La hacienda", but for me it is only a step away.
