PI Not a Valid Win32 App Under VMWare
« on: 2013 March 01 16:51:07 »
After successfully running the test version under VMWare and Win XP 64 I purchased a copy of PI.  I have now installed the latest 64 bit version but upon starting PI I get a message that it is not a valid Windows 32 bit Application.  All other 64 bit apps run fine.  Why would Win XP 64 think it needs to be a 32 bit app?  Any ideas?PI-windows-x86_64-01.08.00.0963-nsi-20130124-c.exe is the ver. I downloaded and installed.

See http://pixinsight.com/sysreq/index.html: "Windows XP is not supported. The PixInsight Core application runs on Windows XP, but there are screen rendering problems and, which is more important, our automatic updates system does not work correctly on Windows XP. Our updates system is based on UAC technology (User Account Control) and code signing, which unfortunately are not available on Windows XP. "

Thanks for trying to help Georg.  I installed the 32 bit version and it's working fine, guess I'll stay with it until I upgrade computers.  I found a similar problem with Win Explorer 9 but the fix did not work for me.  It's installer was the issue.
