Can not download new platforms from distribution

I am not certain what I have messed up but for some reason when I log into the distribution server and click on any of the releases, instead of downloading the file, my IE9 browser pops up the window on the bottom of the browser asking me if "Do you want to save download_php?session_id=(insert long string of characters here)&file_id=..."

If I click save the download fails. If I change the download name to the file on the website, the download fails. If I click save with the weird name, the download fails.

I guess I am kind of tired and the only thing I could think to try was adding the site to the trusted sites zone but that didn't help.

Anyone have this happen before and know the fix?

I am currently running version 1.7.06 and would like to try the latest version 1.8.0.

I do not use IE9, but if you right-click, don't you get the usual menu with the different choices such as: download this link, etc...  ??

What exactly do you mean by "download fails"? What is the error message? What is the contents of the failed file?

I just tried, using IE9, and although the download seems to be titled all numbers once the download started it had the same title as what is displayed on the list of downloads. Download completed without incident. The download was the first Windows listed download.

I fixed the problem.

The setting "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" under Internet Options\Advanced\Security cannot be checked. It prevented me from downloading the exe file. In fact, it changes the name of the file to the URL. It didn't work regardless of whether I clicked on the file or right clicked and selected Save Target As.

I even tried to change the name of the weird file name to the correct file name and Windows will not permit you to change the name of the file and it will not download.

As soon as I unchecked the "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" option and restarted IE9, Voila.
