Can You Change Process Console History Limit?
« on: 2013 January 29 11:49:29 »
PI v.18 RC3 Win7 64-bit (and perhaps OSX too, but haven't tested that platform yet)...

Is there a way to increase how far back you can go in Process Console?  If you do a large-ish Batch Processing session, a LOT of useful data is sprayed rapidly onto the Process Console screen and scrolls up out of sight. I've found when I try to back and read the various warnings and progress statements after the BP smoke has settled, I can only go back so far, then nothing before that.

I went through the Global | Preferences dialog and couldn't find an obvious place to increase the number of lines or the KB/MB of text Process Console can store... perhaps I'm just missing something here? Are the PC data strings stored somewhere else as well that I can refer to?

Its really unnerving to see a "Warning" msg flash by and scroll out of view during a session, then not be able to find it in PC afterwards.

Rod,
"Global Preferences>Miscellaneous Process Settings>Maximum number of console lines" might be what you are looking for

Ah, thank you Derrick - that is exactly what I was looking for... I don't honestly even remember seeing the Misc Proc Settings in the Preferences list last night... I guess my eyes were more tired than I realized.

For me, at least, the saving of the Process Console to a log file would be great.
