I was again using a TIF RGB file generated by PS CS5. I used CCDStack to convert the TIF to FIT format and repeated the same DBE process without problem. I'm using 1.8.0 PI on a Win7 x64 machine. Exception occured after DBE points were placed and execute was selected. Apparently PI doesn't like the CS5 TIF format. If this is indeed the case I'll just stop trying to use TIF's within PI or you may want to take the selection of TIF formats out of your "Open" menu.
The short time I used PI trial 1.7 version it also generated an exception so I don't think that this problem is exclusive to 1.8.
A memory access violation dialog popped up and then the following exception info was displayed:
