New Tutorial: ATrousWaveletTransfrom and HDRWaveletTransform in PixInsight

Hello everybody,

A new processing example is now available:

I have used three original raw images acquired by Thomas W. Earle, who has kindly given me permission to use them. I want to express my gratitude for his great support and help.

This document is a step-by-step example focused on the practical usage of two important processing tools in PixInsight: ATrousWaveletTransfrom and HDRWaveletTransform. In addition, advanced topics related to image integration and robust evaluation of the signal-to-noise ratio are covered through scripts written in the JavaScript language.

I hope this work will be useful. Comments and criticisms are always welcome.

Hi Juan,

We have been testing this technique with our 'poor' data. Our conclusion is that for our data (we do not have observatory so typically the frames are undersampled  :? ) it is a better method to refine the detalis without having problems with the noise. It is really impressive the quanty of details that appear after the wavelet improvement

I completely agree. ATrousWaveletTransform is a really powerful tool for detail enhancement. Deconvolution requires more signal to achieve optimum results.

With the second tutorial, I wanted to demonstrate how well ATWT can work, even with limited SNR data.
