Hi,
I acquired a wide field of NGC6888 and stopped with one issue.
right now I am not asking for a processing advice but I'd like to check if I made some mistakes in the acquisition-pre processing steps.
I have Ha, R, G, B, all bin1x1.
I am able to mix all channels and get a good image, except for the NGC 6888.
The field ha nebulas come out nicely, with smooth gradients of lightness, good deep red color.
The NGC 6888 is very bad:
-salmon color: that's ok, I need to play with masks and blending factors
- "posterization" of the nebula, that doesn't show lightness gradients and seems "painted" in one color.
I re-checked the integration phase but I am not rejecting anything useful.
The "flat" representation is visible also in the Ha master and RGB master, to a lower degree.
The ha blending make everything worse, especially after adding ha also as a luminance.
My next step would be to work out a mask for the NGC nebula only, that is much brighter of the sorrounding, but I am skeptical because HDRM was not able to extract lightness gradients from the object.
I wonder if you encountered this problem before and if you related it to some acquisition-pre processing error.
Thank you very much,
Andrea
