Starbuck forcibly closing windows
« on: 2012 August 29 11:39:19 »
Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me. Very often, when I am registering or aligning raw files from my Canon camera, Pixinsight will suddenly stop working and pop up with a message saying Starbuck has stopped working, and forces me to close the program. This never happens with fits files from my ccd camera. I am then given another message once Pixinsight is closed, saying that I need to turn off data execution prevention to solve the problem- however, although I can find the correct page for this in Windows, I cannot find the Pixinsight executable files to enable me to do this! Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Many thanks.

Dave

It seems a problem with the depletion of memory. Try increasing the virtual memory, fixing a relative great amount (2 to 4Gb, for example). Anyway, if you can run PI on a 64bits machine, do that. This will solve lots of memory related issues.
