New To PixInsight & Astrophotography
« on: 2012 October 17 19:21:12 »
Hello, I just bought PixInsight and Photoshop CS6. I currently own a Stellarvue 105 and SBIG 8300M w/ filterwheel. I know how to use my camera for the most part but I don't really know ANYTHING about processing or how to use PixInsight. Is there a tutorial that goes into alot of detail on how to process an image step by step?

Thanks,
Christopher

Do a search for Harry's videos on this site or google Harry's astroshed--really good intro stuff here.
Note added: See http://www.harrysastroshed.com/pixinsighthome.html for tutorial videos

Hi Christopher,

Welcome to PixInsight - I know you will enjoy the learning process!

I have a couple of pages of PI Links on my website that you might find useful:

http://www.drakevisual.com/pixinsight-links
http://www.drakevisual.com/pi-links-by-topic/

I second the suggestion to take a look at Harry's videos - that's how I got started.

Also, Warren Keller has a new PixInsight tutorial series at http://www.ip4ap.com/pixinsight.htm

I hope this helps,

Sean
