BatchPreprocessing fails with some filter names
« on: 2012 May 23 13:36:18 »
BatchPreprocessing will fail to write out some images if there are special characters in the filter names. We have been using the filter (wheel) position as well as the name of the filter in parenthesis, and this gets stored in the FITS header as e.g. "1 (Clear)".

BatchPreprocessing then balks at creating the file (or folders?) for the light images that includes that filter name.

Hi Thorsten,

Yes, the problem here is CFITSIO, which interprets parentheses in file names and hence fails when () or [] are included from a filter name. This is a long-time problem whose only practical solution seems to be getting rid of CFITSIO from PixInsight once and for all.

While this happens, I'll try to publish a new version of the script without this problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.
