First use of Pixinsight by Pixinsight beginner

Hi,

I'm new user in France.
The Pixinsight, just downloaded has version # 01.07.04.759

As beginner i've some problems.

For exemple Pixinsight, at start, offers me 18 updates. I accept and updates are downloaded.


Exit Pix gives these 18 updates installed but with the result : " the update process has failed " and an empty Log file,


Then the check of updates installed gives :


What happens.

Paul,
which OS are you using (apparently some version of Windows) ? Into which location did you install PI? Did you change anything regarding permissions or UserAccessControl (UAC) in Windows?

My PC works with XP SP3 Home Edition (Intel Corel Quad CPU 2.5 Ghz).

PI is normaly located in Program Files folder on the C: hard disk.

Access permissions are allowed by BitDefender Total Security 2011 allowing PI.
