Suggestion for a new contest

The current monthly contest requires that the images are obtained by the participant using his equipment and then processed using PixInsight.

For those who do not have good equipment or clear skies and not enough experience in capturing images, another contest would be helpful.

Raw unprocessed images posted.
Participant to the contest may process the raw images and post their end result.

He didn't post any FITS files, he was just giving a quote to what the contest would roughly be!   

I like this idea as well -- I think it would be fascinating for anyone participating in the contest to record their steps, settings, perhaps whole Project icons to show everyone how they got to their final image. I'll bet everyone would learn a lot from seeing the intricate workflows that everyone else uses, and the true experts would be rewarded (especially if we used some challenging or difficult data).

Any moderators who could pick this up and post some challenging raw data?

Thanks for posting this request, it's a good idea. DSLR users will benefit from displaying and having their work critiqued.

We support this project. How about the new PixInsight Files service to host raw images, post processed images, icons/projects, etc?

As a new entrant to AP and not having images to process, this would be of great help to me and to other folks in a similar situation.
