Hi

Please have a look at the attached image, its a bi-colour of NGC 2237.

OIII - 8 hours and 10 minutes of 10 and 20 minute subs
Ha - 5 hours and 30 minutes of 10 and 20 minute subs.

Calibrated in MaximDL

Processed in Pixinsight
Star Aligned
Integration - Linear fit clipping
Decon Ha and OIII
Pixelmath Ha - Red+ OIII- Green + OIII(0.2*Ha) Blue
Dynamic crop
DBE
MMT
Histogram transformation
HDR wavelets
Local histogram Equalisation
Curves
SCNR

I would be interested in getting some feed back.

Regards

Julian

Hello Julian
I really like, including color. Maybe you should check the noise. ;)
Giorgio.

Hi Giorgio

Thanks for the positive comments. I aways thought the noise issue was going from a 90mb fit to a 512kb jpg?  Please am I missing something?

I thought the MMT worked quite well?

Julian, you may want to experiment with ACDNR, creating a good mask
or, with GREYCstoration, and a mask luminance reversed.

I have never used GREYCstoration, I will give it a go!

Iñaki

Thank you very much for your positive comments, however I am struggling with the noise reduction, I have experimented with ATWT, ACDNR and MMT. I have plenty of photons, 12 hours on this image, but I do not seem to be able to get it right!

Julian

I recommend trying ATWT while the RGB and Luminance images are still Linear. You make a mask, make the *mask* non-linear (with Histogram Transformation), then apply it, invert it, and use Atrous Wavelet noise reduction.

I really only learned this method about a month ago from Harry, but now I'll never go back to ACDNR...

Take a look: http://www.harrysastroshed.com/at%20noise.html

It's amazingly effective and adjustable.
