STF shortcut keys not working
« on: 2012 January 30 23:20:17 »
I'm running PI 1.7 x86_64 on Mac OS 10.6.8.  In an image if I hit cmd-A, I get the STF autostretch correctly.  But as I understand it, shift-opt-S should reset the STF back to the original image.  This key combination does not work.  I can right click on the image, and using that menu reset the STF.

i think it's control-S, at least that works for me. edit: actually i think you are trying to do control-option-S to reset, not just turn on and off. anyway, ^ means control but the full up arrow (can't reproduce it here) means shift.

but... after a while a lot of keyboard shortcuts stop working on OSX. shift-apple-R,G,B,0 to change the view to R,G,B or RGB often stop working. and sometimes control-S stops working as well.

i assume this is another Qt bug...

On Mac it's not control-S, it's command-A.  That's for the autostretch, and that works for me.

It's the reset that doesn't work.  I tried command-shift-S and control-shift-S, and neither work.  But according to the right-click menu, they're the right keys.

yes, i was trying to say that the stf reset was control-S, but that's stf on/off.

anyway, i just tried it and control-command-S does work (note, that's the funny key with the symbol that sort of looks like =, autostretch is apple-A or cloverleaf-A.) i think you might be having the problem where certain key combinations stop working after a whilke.

if you quit pixinsight, restart it, open one image and do apple-A and then control-command-S, it might work.

Thanks for sticking with me here...

control-S does nothing here.  Doesn't turn STF on/off or anything, just get that "tink" sound when I press the keys.
Same with command-S.

Funny thing, normally command-A does do the autostretch for me.  But after testing the key combos you mention below, I tried command-A and didn't work then.  Got the "tink" sound, as if it's an error or can't do whatever you're asking it to do.

Restarted PI and command-A did work as autostretch.

But no matter what, control-command-S doesn't work here at all.

So as you say, for some reason, key combos aren't working here.  :(

one problem on my end is that i use Sun keyboards on my office mac, just because i like where the control key is. on that keyboard the meta-keys are marked differently.

but, i do have an iMac with an apple keyboard, and i can see that the cloverleaf key is also marked "command". the key next to the command key is marked "option", which i believe corresponds with that funny = symbol.

so, i think what you want is control-option-S.

still eventually keys do stop working for me. most notably the mask show/hide key combo eventually stops working. of course i suffer from other heisenbugs that juan can't reproduce, so...

Thought I'd confirm here. The latest update to the PI core does indeed seem to have fixed this. Thanks so much PI team.
