Hi Nicola,

you'll need to use 64-bit version of PixInsight on 64-bit operating system. Doing GMM on 32bits is near to impossible, regardless of amount of physical or free memory in the system. This was already discussed on forum many times.

regards, Zbynek

Thank you for the answer. I have a Pentium 4 3.2Ghz PC, do you think I could install a 64bit OS?

I'm pretty sure you can. AFAIK there's 64bit instruction set on Pentium 4 since 2004. Typical P4 frequency in these days was 1.3GHz.

Anyway, 64bit OS installer would surely complain soon enough :).

Another possibility should be running a dual boot Linux or VMware 64bit OS Nicola.  I've got too many boxes happily running XP32 to jump ship just for PI.  My brain hurts getting the new OS's to play ball so far though - started mucking around last night   ???
