December 2011 Astrophotography Contest Winners
« on: 2012 January 08 09:03:19 »
Greetings to everybody!

Thank you very much for keeping on following us in the seven editions of the 2011 Astrophotography Contest. According to the points 8 and 10 of the contest rules, when the number of submitted images is less than seven, the monthly contest can have only a winner.

Unusual situations are becoming usual as seen in the last editions... Once again we have a shared unique prize. Congratulations to the winners of the shared unique prize of this month! Once again, we encourage everyone to continue participating in new comming editions.

Shared Unique Prize (A) — NGC891 in Andromeda by wvandenberghe.

Shared Unique Prize (B) — NGC281 (Pacman nebula) in Cassiopeia by Giorgio.

Clear, dark and steady skies to everybody!

I echo Lex and Geert, both images have stunning depth and detail, and reveal not a trace of the expert image processing. Fabulous work!
