HDRW Scaling Function between Versions 1.6 and 1.7
« on: 2011 June 15 17:23:09 »
I've been using version 1.7 with the latest updates and when I get to the HDRW function I noticed a big difference in scaling function terms. I've attached screen shots of each version to help explain what I'm referring to. The scaling functions are named differently in 1.6 vs. 1.7 but are the functions the same? I most often used 3x3 Gaussian and 5x5 Gaussian but these terms aren't listed in version 1.7. Are they there but named differently?

Thanks,

Steve

I'd guess that the number in parenthesis indicates the kernel size (3 = 3x3, 5=5x5, etc) and the other number is just the central value (peak) in the kernel.

Sorry, I overlooked this post.

Rogelio is right; the functions are the same, only their names have been changed. Instead of "3x3Gaussian" use "Small Scale (3)" in PI 1.7. Instead of "5x5 Gaussian" use "Gaussian (5)". You'll obtain exactly the same results as before.
