Dark Structure - High Pass
« on: 2011 March 04 03:23:08 »
Hi all.

It might have been asked before, and I know that there is a script for this already, but I would like to understand how I can do it manually.
What is the best method of enhancing the dark structures found in galaxy cores, arms etc?
Through ATWT, I know, but what settings do I need to play with?

Thank you,
Emanuele

PS: See my Luminance for M31 here.

Hi Emanuale,

check this tutorial: http://pixinsight.com/tutorials/DSE/en.html. It describes the method used in the script as well as the script itself.

P.S. Great picture!
