BAD AUTHENTICATION - Issue with OS X 32bit Updates
« on: 2011 January 18 08:03:46 »
For some reason my 32 bit PixInsight.app won't update, but the 64 bit will update.

I attached a screenshot.

Is there some sort of cache or something else I need to clear?

Hi David,

While I write this I'm updating a 32-bit Mac OS X application with your user name and password. They work perfectly.

Make sure not to include any whitespace at both ends of the user name and password. Some email clients insist in adding nonprintable 'white' characters when you copy text from a message.

I retried it and it worked.  I am pretty sure I didn't have any trailing characters that issue - I was testing the same pasted password in the web site without problems.  Also my 64bit updated without any issues in the same workflow during that time when I posted the issue.

Is it possible that the server was down temporarily?  Either way, thanks for checking for me.

Of course, and although it's unlikely, sometimes the server can be in a transitional state during a maintenance work that can cause fake authentication errors. Happens from time to time.
