Working on images of the Moon
«

I know I am still new and all but I am wondering if there are any tutorials on working with images of the moon? I can do basic things but it would be extremely helpful and useful if I can use PixInsight to work on lunar images or planets? Not stacking and capturing just processing. Would save money in buying other software as well
Thanks
Jeff

check out this tutorial, it is very good:

also, i think that both the HDR wavelets transform and the local histogram equalization processes can work wonders on images of the moon.

Try also the ATWT and increase the bias at different scales.

I am still tweaking but this is a quick process of old data I kept just for this purpose:

I used my Celestron 102SLT Refractor on the Nexstar Alt Az Mount and the old Celestron Neximage. Not sure of the stack. I am looking at getting the new 5mp Neximage for planetary / Lunar work. All I did was use Histogram Transformation, HDR Wavelets and Unsharp (I assume this sharpens?).
Thanks,
Jeff
