Star Masks
« on: 2005 January 02 15:24:51 »
Hello guys,
I am enjoying PixInsight LE very much.  A month or so ago a discussion was started on the CCD listserv about using a star mask in PixInsight to remove stars from the image.  What I'm looking to do is remove trailed stars from an image of a comet.  The image was stacked on the comet so the stars are trailed.  I also stacked a set of the same frames aligning on the stars instead of the comet.  I am trying to remove the trailed stars from an image and adding the stars from the other image.  I know this is fairly easy but I'm having a little trouble figuring out what to do first.

Thanks for the help
Clear Skies

Jon

Hi Jon,

Welcome to PixInsight forum!

Well in fact I don't see that so easy...

Could I see both images? Nothing as playing with them to try helping you.

To give a decent answer I also need to work with the images at reasonable resolution. Can you upload them to your website and give me a link? Or, perhaps you prefer sending them via email. Either way will be OK.

Thank you.
