Win7 - problem with image window control buttons
« on: 2010 February 07 11:44:03 »
Do sequence:
1. Open any image;
2. Modify it so that PI will want to save change if you will want to close the image (for ex., change Id);
3. Press Maximize button on image's frame (top-right corner) to expand it to full working area - notice that 4 buttons to control image's window (Iconize, Shade, Restore, Close) are now located in top right of the PI main window, just below three buttons that control PI Application window (Fig 1 below).
4. Try to close the image window with the Close button - dialog on possible lose of unsaved process will apear, notice that at the same time those 4 buttons that control image window will dissapear at the top-right corner.
5. Say NO  in the dialog - 4 control buttons will remain to be hidden, with this you lost ability to easily control your image window expanded on the screen (workaround is to do something like Window-Cascade, ...). See Fig 2.

As for me - this is definitely bug (was it reported already?).

Windows 7,
PI 1.05.09.0561 eng (x86)

Regards,
   Yuriy

You're right Yuriy, I've noticed this bug too but never bothered to report it. The buttons also disappear when you save a modified image as I remember.

Thanks Yuriy and Sander,

This is a confirmed bug. It happens on both Linux and Windows. It cannot happen on Mac OS X because window titles are not merged with the application title bar on the Mac.

Workaround: when this happens simply press Ctrl+0 (Zoom to Fit), Ctrl+T (Zoom to Optimal Fit) or Ctrl+W (Fit Window). You can also click on one of the gadgets at the bottom left corner of the image window.

I'll try to fix this bug in the next release; thank you for reporting.
