Latest Undocumented Feature... App Crash!
« on: 2020 January 23 15:59:38 »
Every time I shut down the program Win7 64b gives me an "App Crash" error.  Please fix.

Ok.  In that case can I reinstall the previous version?  And how do you turn off the update nags?

Just saw where the new release is also having crash problems in iOS.  FYI...  Running the latest version in Win7 compatibility mode still results in PIs ungraceful exit.

There were problems with macOS, not iOS. The newest versions of macOS are supported, not older ones. Similarly, Windows 7 is not supported but Windows 10 is.

The Win7 is not supported excuse is a lame "cop out".   Especially considering that the program runs fine, with the exception of the crash on exit problem.  I normally wouldn't give a rats pa-toot if it were not for the fact that this ungraceful exit is probably tying up the memory used by PI.  Would it kill you guys to spend a few minutes and see if there is a simple fix for this?

Hi,

The easiest fix is to update your Windows 7 system to Windows 10.  You can download Windows 10 build 1909 for free and install. To turn off update select Resources ---> Updates ---> Manage Repositories and remove the repositories.  Microsoft have also stopped and patches/development/updates on Windows 7 so the upgrade is inevitable.

John_Gill,

Where are you downloading your version of the free Win10 upgrade?

I just went to the MS site and here is what I saw:

Is the Windows 10 free upgrade offer still available?
The Windows 10 free upgrade through the Get Windows 10 (GWX) app ended on July 29, 2016.

you use the media creation tool. it works - i upgraded a VMware win7 VM to win10 last week.

there are 2 caveats - one is that it's windows 10 home and the other is that it's a 32-bit version of windows 10. so your PI won't be able to address more than 3GB of memory, give or take.
