Blink Error Messages

The following occurs roughly half the time. After successfully viewing a series of images using Blink and then clearing the files and adding new ones I get a host of error messages - see attachment. The only way to continue is to exit PixInsight and then restart.

Hi Gordon,

The backtrace report shows that this is a machine-specific issue related to your graphics drivers. The error happens within Qt libraries, so it is completely out of our control. Can you provide information about your machine? Which version of PixInsight are you using?

Juan,
I've attached the System Summary page and Components>Display page reported by windows.

I've never noticed before that there are two graphics displays active on my system. I've always connected to the GeForce 650 card. I will reboot into the BIOS and see if I can turn the Intel graphics off.

This was originally a Windows 8 machine that was upgraded to Windows 10. When I transitioned to Windows 10 the GeForce card generated some compatibility warnings, but, NVIDIA came out with new drivers that I assumed fixed the issue. Is this where the errors are originating? Would a new graphics card resolve the issue? Any recommendations what would be best with PixInsight?

Thanks,
Gordon

Hi Gordon,

I would try disabling the integrated Intel HD graphics card if possible, then make sure you have the latest versions of your graphics drivers installed. If this does not fix the problem, my next recommendation is a complete reinstall of Windows 10 x64. Use a copy of Windows downloaded from Microsoft servers, not one provided by your machine's manufacturer. Also avoid any bloatware such as vendor-provided file management and backup applications, etc.

I disabled the integrated graphics. So far so good.
Thanks again!

Just for what it's worth,
I had something very similar (if not identical) occur in Blink yesterday - for the first time.

The problem went away after rebooting the desktop.

What graphics card is in your pc?
I’ve used Blink successfully several time since disabling the redundant graphics on the mother board. A similar error did occur yesterday when starting image integration. The error did not re-occur after restarting PixInsight.
