raw format APT/Fits format Sgpro not compatible?

Hi Mirco,

hope someone can help me. I shot light and dark frames in FITS format with Sgpro and flat frames in raw format with APT.
The problem is getting them work together...I tried all possible combination in BatchPreprocessing but the problem is always the same: flat frames are discarded or the process gets stuck with warning problems. Bottom line, the flat frames are not used to calibrate the final image.

I would like to analyze these issues further. Can you please upload a sample of these light, dark and flat frames, representative of both acquisition applications? In other words, I'd need a sample of the files that are causing these problems.

Well I apologise for misunderstanding and misinterpreting the OP's original question. I was trying to be helpful.

I have experienced what I thought was a similar problem and I was explaining that using flats obtained from an ASIair and lights from SGPro results in PI refusing to use the flats even though they were taken with the same imaging system/camera. The only difference I can find is in the fit header and editing either the lights of the flats overcame the problem.

For the record I find your response to my comment offensive. I fully recognise that this forum is about PixInsight and I also recognise others also use other software platforms and it is entirely reasonable to compare and contrast and make appropriate comment.

I'm sorry if you feel offended; of course that was not my intention. I may have been a bit rude, for which I apologize. However, please realize that your message was clearly inappropriate in the first place. You are basically saying something like better use another, well-known software package (with A and P), where this problem does not happen, instead of PixInsight. This is not the kind of constructive information that PixInsight users would expect to read on PixInsight Forum.

Hi Juan,

I’m sorry but I have cancelled the flats incriminated... Just to let everybody know, it was not only a Pixinsight issue. I tried also Deepskystacker and I got the same problem.
I tried then to take flats with Sgpro instead of APT (matching the same fits format as lights and darks) and Pixinsight was able to calibrate. So, probably, there something in the raw format from apt that messed up everything. I’m not an expert so I really don’t know..
Anyway, I tried APT because it is much faster in downloading the files in comparison with Sgpro, but I learned the lesson. Next time I will take ALL the lights/darks/bias/flats with the same program in order to don’t risk to throw away an entire night for nothing...
