All channels exactly the same after integration?
« on: 2019 December 28 06:54:34 »
I was working on a mosaic of M33 and it went together okay but I could not seem to coax any color out of it.

Let me explain that I was not happy with the 'Master' integrations produced by WBPP so I took the 'registered' output from WBPP and integrated them manually. Which seemed to work fine except, again, all channels are EXACTLY the same!? The subs appear to have been de-mosaiced and I see three channels in the histogram, but they are identical!

Have a look at this histogram. (You can click the image, then click again for a close up view).

What am I overlooking?

BPP/WBPP should only be used to get a rough integration, this should always be followed by manual integration as per various threads on this forum

As I tried to explain that is exactly what I had done but resulted in all channels being the same.

You say all channels are exactly the same. Have you checked this by using pixelmath? Subtract one from another and see if you get a black image. If this happens then maybe your filter wheel is not rotating. What about your raw frames. Are they also the same? If so, their is not an integration problem

Its an OSC camera, that's why I mentioned they were de-bayered. To be specific it is an ASI071mc-pro. GRBG matrix.

No filters used save for a IR cut (Lum) filter.

Look at the histogram I posted all three channels have nearly exactly the same levels, curves, and anomalies! Something un natural about it.

Yes the individual subframes act the same way, I checked them.

Here is another example. This is a single frame of M33. I admit it is not a very good one but good enough for this example!

There defiantly should be some color in there but it is all flat, almost grey scale! All three channels are pretty much the same level. Trying to adjust a single channel in the histogram results in a global change to the image. Even trying to increase saturation with curves it is still flat and grey.

Solved!

Wrong Bayer pattern. I figured since it was an ASI it would be the same as my 1600mc. Wrong it's RGGB
