Hi all,
Please feel free to link me to a prior post if there is one--I haven't found one yet. I have LRGB broadband data as well as Ha, O3 narrowband data on the Robins Egg nebula NGC 1360. My SSRO partner Steve Mazlin posted a terrific image of it but he did it in photoshop (link below). I'm trying to figure out how to get a similar image using just PI. I've been working with the NBRGB script plugging HOO into the slots both in linear and nonlinear, but my image keeps coming out too green. I tried SCNR, but lost the pretty reddish color contrast by the star. I know that Kayron has a tutorial on it, but our data is very different so I'm not sure it applies.
So my question is kind of general. How do you combine Ha and O3 data with LRGB broadband? Do you use the script? Do you do it nonlinear? Do you do it after LRGB combination or before? Do you have a pixelmath expression you recommend, and do you linear fit beforehand?
Here is Steve's wonderful result with Photoshop so you can see what I'm working with.
