PI crashes - new user

Hi All,
I am a new user of PI, and although I have started to do some nice work with it, it crashes on a regular basis :
- any process where I tick evaluate noise or generate drizzle data
- image calibration
- image integration or star alignment
- local normalization
to name a few.
the computer will run for hours and then crash.
I am running on Windows 10, Intel i7-8750 with 8Gb RAM - I have tried with the default set up and also by creating swapfiles on the SSD drive and one swapfile on the Hard drive.
would someone be able to give me any help ? would you need more details ?

Hi,

I assume that you are running Windows 10.  Is there any kind of error message when the PC crashes.... Make a note of the time the PC crashes, then restart the PC.   In "Windows Explorer" right click on "This PC" ---> "Manage" ---> "Event Viewer" ---> "Windows Logs".  There are 4 folders that contain log files.  Perhaps digging thru these log according to the crash-time might present a clue as to why the PC fails. 

If you are running Linux then check the folder/files in /var/log

I really don't understand why I cannot run noise evaluation or generate drizzle data - I have ran the benchmark script and all went well. may be should I turn all the background applications off during the process, such as antivirus etc... ??
