Anyone seen FITS this PI error?
« on: 2019 August 19 14:08:22 »
When I was Image Calibrating my Ha flats (50 flats images) the first 26 went fine, images 27-50 blew up on me with the following error. Consequently, I am unable to even open the Flats image? All 50 OIII images have this error? Any ideas what is causing this error? Do I need to re-shoot my Flats?

Here is a text of the error message. Image below. Thanks in advance for your help.

PCL Legacy FITS Format Support: Unable to open FITS file: D:/NGC6888/Flats/Ha/Target 1_Flat_Ha_2.57sec_0027_2019-07-10_-10C.fit

is your disk full? that's usually the cause of a bad fits file...

Just closing the loop on this one. I re-imaged my flats and dark flats, and Image Calibrated with no errors. Not sure what went wrong with the previous set of images but we're back on track. Thanks Rob for your advice.

that's good to hear. i guess i didn't notice that your bad file appears to be straight from the camera based on the filename. what i was describing usually happens when the disk fills up as images are being calibrated and written out by PI.

so i guess the capture program must have written out a bad file.

That's has to be culprit in my mind - I have 500GB of space on the laptop. I'm glad it was nothing more than bad files.
