Batch Preprocessing script - reference image
« on: 2019 May 15 03:22:53 »
Another learner question I’m afraid. I use the above script with my OSC files from my colour camera and I choose the best one as Registration Reference Image. However if I load all the LRGB files from my mono camera/filter wheel the script separates the file area into lists of red files, green files etc. In these circumstances could someone be kind enough to tell me what I should be using as the Registration Reference Image? Many thanks - John

i guess it depends on what you are doing. are you trying to register these images to your OSC images?

if not, you can just pick the image with the best FWHM/star count no matter what filter it came from. all images from all filters have to be registered to a single reference, so it kind of doesn't matter which filter's image you choose.

Thanks for the response Rob. No I am not trying to register the images to OSC images. I opened the post with the OSC comment only to explain that I did know a bit about the Script. You have however answered my question in that I can just pick the best one from the RGB listing.  - John
