Subframe selector parameters for a ASI 294 Pro
« on: 2019 April 08 08:56:50 »
Hello,

I am learning to analyse my data using the sub-frame selector, but I am not certain that I have the correct parameters.  I use a ASI 294 Pro with a 85mm triplet, FL 560mm.

Here are the specs for camera, and the current parameters (Attached).

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

With a pixel-size of  4.63µm and FL=560mm you end up 1.71 arcsec/pixel (arcsec_per_pixelpixel = pixel_size[µm]/FL[mm] * 206.3) [1].
The electrons/DataNumber value depends on the gain setting of your camera. A setting of 117 corresponds to "unity gain" on the ASI294 and for that you would put in 1 electron/data number. Refer to your camera manual [2] (page 8 ) .

With my ASI294MC Pro I measured a gain of 0.88 e/ADU at a gain setting of 120. So there was some deviation from the values published by ZWO.

It is correct to set 'Camera resolution' to 14-bit [0, 16383]. SubframeSelector takes into account that the camera driver scales the intensities (multiplying them by factor 4).
