Putting PI on a laptop
« on: 2019 March 15 10:17:21 »
I'm trying to put PI onto my laptop. I already have it on my iMac. I don't understand the terminology. I have my ID number and my password. What is a "User Identifier" and "Activation Code"? I'd also like to put the new version on my iMac but I'm afraid to delete my current copy if I'm going to run into this problem.

see FAQ 2.7. basically you should only need to copy the license file from one machine to another once you have done the activation.

Sorry, that's not working for me. I need to know what "User Identifier" means.

Could someone please tell me what I use for "User Identifier"? This is the screen that I get when I try to open PI.

when you bought pixinsight, you should have received an email with a username and password. this is the username and password you used to log into dist.pixinsight.com to download the app for the first time. those are the credentials you need to activate a copy of PI.
