Star Halos
« on: 2019 March 16 05:59:49 »
Hi all,

Im struggling with two star  halos in this image. Ive tried star halo script but im unable to get the whole halo under the mask for some reason. What are the best options?

Hi Ken - That is one massive file (835 MB)!

I downloaded the file and used a technique involving:
1) CloneStamp  to completely cover up the star and halo for both stars.
2) GAME script to generate a Gradient Mask for each star that defines how much of each star will be allowed to "show through".
3) PixelMath to let the masked stars show through the clone stamped image.

The result is shown in the attached image.

If you are interested I can explain the technique more fully.

Cheers - Steve

Ken - I made one more attempt with your image. I used the same technique, but, used a slightly different mask with the GAME script (I used the Binary Mask rather than the Gradient Mask along with a little Convolution to blur the edges of the mask so the stars edges aren't too sharp). I think the final stars look better.

Just FYI.
