Error Message when using ImageCalibration

Hi, I'm trying to calibrate by light frames with a superbias, master flat and master dark frames and I keep getting an error message, I've attached it as a Word document. Essentially It's saying there's incompatible image geometry and the calibration has failed. I've tried it without a flat, same result, without a bias, same result and without a dark with again the same result. I saved the originals in .xisf from .fits to see if that made any difference and again, they both failed.
Short of not using the calibration frames I'm lost as to where to go from here.

what is the source of the different files? DSLR, CCD, etc?

Hi Rob, sorry about the delay but I just got home from work.
All images were taken with a one shot colour CCD (QHY8L) including calibration frames and subs.

hmm well all i can suggest at this point is to open your master bias/dark/flat onto the desktop and look at their image dimensions - if one or more of them is not 3328x2030 then that's the problem.

Thank you, I'll give it a shot when I get home. Could it have something to do with selecting Optimize as well? I've heard this can cause issues.

no, all Optimize does is try to compute a scaling factor for the dark which minimizes the noise in the calibrated frame. it can't be used if you have some fixed pattern noise in the sensor which is not a function of exposure time, like amp glow or what's left over from an RBI pre-flash.

Hi Rob, using Resample I checked the dimensions and they are all 3328 x 2030 so back to the drawing board.

are they all 1-channel files? geometry includes the X by Y dimensions plus how many channels. so an RGB file vs. a mono file would generate the "incompatible geometry" message.

Hi Rob, okay so I ran batchstatistics over the calibration files that I've been using, I've attached them but I'm not sure how to interpret them.
The width and height are easy and all are the same, the channels though are throwing me.
As you can see each channel is 0, 0, 1. Is that normal?
I don't use mono, the only camera I own is the QHY8L so all images including calibration files are taken with it.

Hi Rob, So I again ran the batchstatistic script over not just the calibration files but also the images I'm trying to calibrate them with and there's a difference in the size. The calibration files are 3040","2016","0","0","1", "3040","2016","0","0","1", "3040","2016","0","0","1 and the subs are

I think this could be the problem which you have alluded to. I will try to change the size and see if that makes any difference.

ok yes, that's the problem.

is it possible that you changed camera drivers or capture software between the acquisition of the calibration frames and the lights? sensor chips are weird in that they sometimes have extra rows and columns which are not exposed to light; some versions of the driver might deliver them to the application and other versions of the driver might chop them off before sending the data along. or, it could just be a bug in the driver, or the developers changed their mind about how to present the sensor data to the application...

Many thanks for your help, I'd be tearing what little hair I have left out by now as that is not what I would have expected.
I don't change the settings on the camera like that (not even sure I can or how to) but a system upgrade is quite possible.
