PI File I/O Error When Saving Project
« on: 2019 January 20 00:01:26 »
All of a sudden I can't save my Project and get this error?

If tried saving it with a different name but the same error comes up?

this usually happens because some other program (like an antivirus program or some kind of disk cleaning program) goes in behind pixinsight's back and deletes it's swap files (these files are where PI stores the processing history images for each view open on your desktop).

if you go into the directory given in the error, do you see any files there? or is the directory completely empty?

well that is strange - in theory if you close the window that corresponds to that file then you will of course lose that file but you may still be able to save the project. but since i don't see any hint of the view name in the filename, it is going to be hit or miss discovering the view that corresponds to the deleted swap file. i guess you could go around one-by-one and try to undo processing steps - PI should complain that it can't find the swap file on at least one of the images when you try to undo. hopefully that will be the one that's missing its swap file.
