Help using DSLR raw data with PixInsight
« on: 2019 January 08 09:11:42 »
I am new to PixInsight but really enjoying its many capabilities. Until yesterday I've been using DSS to calibrate/register/stack my images. Then I decided to use PI's Batch Preprocessing process, added my light and calibration files and started the batch process. My result was a clear image of a nebula in my main light image but it was tinted completely blue.

I'm sure I haven't set up PI correctly to accept my Canon 60D CR2 raw files but I don't know where to start.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

this is pretty common with any OSC (color) camera. if you do background neutralization the colors should start to look correct; doing ColorCalibration or PhotometricColorCalibration will finish the job.

if you just want to preview the image with STF, unlink the channels by clicking the chain link icon in STF and recompute the STF. it should look more normal.
