Reinstalling OLD config file

Like many others, I have installed the new release of PI. Admittedly, I was a bit distracted when performing that process. At some point, the process warned me that I would be reverting to factory-default settings - but that the existing PI configuration settings were being saved to a backup file. I have that file. How do I use that file to now restore my "new" installation to my configuration settings from the previous version? Did I make a mistake? Or is this a part of the process that everyone went through? Any help is appreciated.

OK - so far it appears that my question does not have an easy answer - no one has yet suggested a possible fix or workaround. Perhaps I should just re-configure "manually" to my previous settings - things could be worse.  The fact that no one else seems to have experienced this issue probably means that I was moving too fast when I did the new install and inadvertently hit the wrong button - my bad.

Hi Bob,

You can copy the backup configuration file to the same folder where you have your license file (see FAQ 2.7). However, please do that when PixInsight is not running, or you may cause a big crash of the core application. It should work.

Thanks so much for that answer. That saves me, and maybe others, from a bit of a hassle trying to recreate how we have personally configured PI to work best for us. You have developed an amazing program, and with a thoughtful personal touch!
