PixInsight 1.8.6
« on: 2018 December 18 08:13:51 »
I am a newbie on PixInsight and not particulary computer literate, two questions
1. Do I have to remove existing version of PixInsight before installing 1.8.6
2 How do I find the platform that reactivates my licence.

Thanks

Hi,

You will need to uninstall the old version and then install the new version.  If you have the download then just install 1.8.6  You will get a "window" asking for your User Identifier and the Activation Code. PixInsight will have emaiedl you these details when you logon to their server to get the download.

Hi,

Go to www.pixinsight.com and select Downloads ---> Software Distribution.  You need to put in your login name and password.  You can then download the updated software.  When you start the new installation you will be prompted for the User Identifier and Activation Code.  There is a button "Request Activation Code" and this will be mail to you.  Remember to check "spam" or "junk mail" folder in case the mail is classified as spam or junk.
