New 1.8.6 installation can't find license file

I downloaded and installed 1.8.6 on my workstation this morning and had to request (and received) a new license activation code as the new installation apparently couldn't find my previously valid license file.  PI worked fine after the new activation code was used.

I then downloaded 1.8.6 to my observatory computer and copied the license file from my workstation to the C:\Users\[username] folder on the observatory computer.  PI can't seem to find the license file and is asking for an activation code.

Both machines are Windows 10 (Workstation is Pro, observatory is Home) and both have been running PI without difficulty for many months.

Has the location of the license file changed in the new version or do I have some other problem.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Hi Bob,

Please see the official announcement post. On Windows, the license file is now on the AppData\Roaming\Pleiades folder under your user profile folder. Its file name is, well, PixInsightLicense

I have installed 1.8.6 on my iMac running Mojave.  The program runs fine and looks great.  HOWEVER, I cannot find the license file.  There is no $HOME/Library/PixInsight directory.  A search for any new files doesn't turn it up either.  It must be there somewhere since the program restarts fine.  Can't find it, though!

Library is normally hidden from view so in explorers option click on the Go and you should see library appear. The licence file is under PixInsight.

In order to see the Library you must hold down the "Option" key while clicking "Go" in the "Finder" window.
...then it shows up.   I'm a Mac "newbie!

... or you can use PixInsight's File Explorer and enable the show hidden files option. Then you'll see all of your Mac's secrets
