Linux Version - Star Align Not Working
« on: 2018 October 28 08:13:11 »
I recently built a new computer and it is running Ubuntu 18.04. I installed a copy of PixInsight and updates. Was able to get PixInsight working.

First processing run, I found that I could not register the images. I ran the Batch Preprocesing Script and then StarAlign on the calibrated images. Either would register: batch script registered none and StarAlign like 6 out of 58. Using Blink the subs are good and only movement is the dithering.

I was able to use my old Win10 computer and that PixInsight version was able to calibrate and register the images no problem.

Any reason why a fresh Linux install would not StarAlign?

Thanks,
Steven

I wonder if it is due to the 32 cores on my AMD 1950 threadripper.

I tried to align frame_1 with frame_1 through frame_19 and frame_15 fails with error stating "0 start pair matches found..."

I then try again but this time align frame_1 with frame_15 through frame_19 and star align works on all 5 frames.

Could it be a bug in the parallelism of the StarAligment algorithm?

Found the issue. The files were corrupted. Not sure how PI was able to calibrate and debayer though.
