Combining images shot with and without reducer
« on: 2018 November 03 12:13:06 »
I have some lights of M81&M82 shot with and without a reducer so the two together and then at a longer focal length the two separately and want to know the best way to combine them.

Do I integrate all the frames together having registered them all to the the wider field frames for best s/n ratio - do the lights have to be the same exposure for this to work?

Do I mosaic the longer focal lengths together and then resize and combine the two resulting light masters? Combine with HDR? Integration? Pixel Math?

Suggestions Please?

Russ

Hi Russ,

I'd start by making masters of the three fields separately, then register the two narrow field images to the wide field using Frame Adaption and combine all three using GradientMergeMosaic.  If that doesn't give you a decent result then you might have to get more creative...

Cheers,
Rick.

I'll give that a try - thanks for the pointer.
