Using the Subframe Selector PCL Module
« on: 2018 July 25 10:03:03 »
I've read through all the postings and downloaded as well as installed the module. Fantastic results but one thing I've always been confused about. Is there a difference in using calibrated vs raw images? At this point I've been measuring all raw fits files. Should I calibrate all images and then run them? Sorry for the simple question but the answer escapes me.

In his Reference Documentation for Subframe Selector ( https://pixinsight.com/doc/scripts/SubframeSelector/SubframeSelector.html ) Mike Schuster wrote:
"Measurements are typically most accurate on calibrated but unregistered subframes."

Well there you go. Thanks and somehow I must have skipped that section. I'll reread again but thank you for the heads up.
