After Linear Fit are BN and CC still needed?
« on: 2018 August 25 05:44:57 »
Hi there,

After doing a Linear Fit on my M8-M20 image should I still do a Background Neutralization plus a Colour Calibration, or not?

Thanks,
Rudy

What ever floats your boat. If you don't like the background color, change it. It's all up to you to represent the image in a manner you like. Perhaps that favored representation equates to an as-tight-as-possible approximation to truth, maybe not.

Look at Juan's comments (second from the bottom) here: https://pixinsight.com/forum/index.php?topic=11081.15

BTW, I usually adjust colors after a photometric calibration. We use various color spaces for our representations, and they each have their foibles and limitations--especially the default sRGB.
