Star problem: colors and appearance

Hello everyone,

I therefore post this message to have your advice to improve the color of my stars and also their appearance.

Indeed, after the treatment step, the stars have been degraded (personal opinion).
Moreover, despite 2:30 for each color layer, I find that the color of the stars is not optimum.

To summarize, here are the steps :

LUMINANCE :
 - DBE
 - Noise reduction
 - Histogram

CHROMINANCE :
 - DBE
 - Background neutralization
 - Photometric Color calibration
 - SCNR

LRGB :
 - Noise reduction
 - Curves
 - Saturation with starmask

 What do you think about it and do you have any tips for the colors and appearance of the stars?

did you try using arcsinh instead of the histogram transform?

I prefer to use HistogramTransformer to make the rise of the histogram.

With MaskedStrech or Arcinstretch, the heart of the stars is too round and saturated.
(even using the HSV script)

It might help is you could explain what you mean by 'degraded' since it is a personal opinion.

Some people do a partial stretch with Arcsinh and finish the stretch with HistogramTransformation. You might also wait and use SCNR at the end of your processing and through masks if your not happy with the color.

Try applying a multiscale blur to chrominance through the star mask then boost the saturation again (also through the star mask.)  To do the blur use one of the multiscale processes, e.g. MMT or MLT, disable the first few layers and set the Target to Chrominance.
